Canadia
Hey all. I'm traveling up north this weekend with the lovely [info]ariata. We're planning on going to the aquaraium, to see the whales. (Whales! In an aquarium! Yeowza) Does anyone know any other fun and interesting things to do in the area?

Both, more than likely. It's not like they're far from each other ...

For Victoria,

Take her to the RBC Museum. I'm not sure what the exhibit is right now, but they had a stellar one on Egypt when I was there.

Tea at the Empress = expensive, but well worth the experience. There's also a cool Indian restaurant in the Empress.

Oh, and as a biologist, she would enjoy Buchart Gardens (there's a bus from the city) and the Butterfly Gardens (on the way to/from Buchart.) Buchart Gardens was my favorite part of the 3-day trip.

There's also an artist's square downtown a few blocks from the Empress.

Don't waste your time at the Aquarium in Victoria.

If you have time to waste, spend it at the wax museum.

Also, at least take a look at Carillion Tower between the Museum and the Empress. Supposedly someone plays it every hour, but I never heard it play.

You kids have fun!

Yeah ok in Vancouver I recommend that you rent bikes to ride around Stanley Park while you're there, weather permitting. Be sure to go walk around the markets in Granville Island, preferably on an empty stomach so that your whims will guide you to delicious fresh cheap food. Chinatown is exciting to walk around in as well, same with the Gastown district next door. The pot stores are in Gastown lol. Actually I'd recommend just picking up a copy of The Rough Guide to Vancouver. Very helpful. Have fun! (I'm jealous)
